  17. This is to announce version 1.1.1 of Kermit 95, which is available to
  18. current registered users of Kermit 95 1.1 as a patch.  This patch applies
  19. only to shrink-wrapped copies, not to site licensed copies, which are
  20. already at 1.1.1 level.

  22. You may download the patch from the Kermit BBS or you can ftp it in binary
  23. mode from the Internet Kermit archive:

  27. Patch 1 corrects the following problems:
  28.  
  29.  . General improvement of accuracy and appearance of Dialer status line.
  30.  . Attempting to <Remove> a preloaded Dialer entry no longer crashes the
  31.    Dialer.
  32.  . "Dial Prefix" no longer also becomes "Dial Suffix".
  33.  . Alphabetization of Dialer entries is now case insensitive.
  34.  . Range checking for numeric dial options fixed in Dialer.
  35.  . Correction for Kermit BBS entry in Dialer.
  36.  . Spurious "OK to close?" message when launching a connection from the
  37.    Dialer, now removed.
  38.  . Download directory specified in General page of entry notebook was ignored,
  39.    now works.
  40.  . ZMODEM downloads fixed to work with FILE COLLISION BACKUP and RENAME.
  41.  . ZMODEM downloads fixed on Telnet connections where they didn't work before.
  42.  . Under certain conditions, K95 would fail to find script or key mapping
  43.    files if a full pathname was not given.
  44.  . Changes made to modem configuration in K95CUSTOM.INI were ignored when
  45.    starting a connection from the Dialer.
  46.  . The version number is changed from 1.1 to 1.1.1.

  48. To apply Patch 1:

  50.  . Make a backup copy of your Kermit 95 directory.  This is not only a
  51.    safety precaution in case something goes wrong (it shouldn't), but also
  52.    because future patches might have to be applied to the 1.1 base version.

  54.  . Ftp the following files to your PC's Kermit 95 directory in
  55.    binary mode:

  57.      w110-111.rtp
  58.      w110-111.rtd
  59.      patch.exe
  60.  
  61.  . While cd'd to your Kermit 95 directory, type the following command:

  63.      patch w110-111.rtp
  64.  
  65.  . Check afterwards that your K95DIAL.EXE and K95.EXE files operate correctly,
  66.    that the bugs mentioned above are fixed, and that none of the files that
  67.    you might have customized (such as K95CUSTOM.INI or DIALUSR.DAT) have been
  68.    altered.

  70. After applying the patch, read the BUGS.DOC file for details about the bugs
  71. that were fixed by this patch, and known problems that are still outstanding,
  72. as well as some frequently asked questions (and answers).

  74. Additional patches will be issued periodically to correct reported problems
  75. and to add features.
